Armbruster Named Move for Hunger Mover of the Year for Mayflower
Brunswick, OH (April 2022) - Armbruster Moving & Storage was named the 2021 Move for Hunger Mover of the Year for Mayflower. The company has been a part of Move for Hunger’s Mover Program since 2012. Armbruster was honored for this accomplishment during the 2022 UniGroup Leadership Conference held in March, as well as in Move for Hunger’s 2021 Year in Review.
Through this partnership, Armbruster transported over 3,500 lbs of food to their local food banks in 2021. Every year, the company runs the “Fill the Mayflower” event during October and November. Their goal for this event is to collect as much food as possible from their moving customers, transporting it to food banks for them to make the donation process even easier.
Move for Hunger is a nonprofit organization that “has created a sustainable way for the relocation industry to help reduce food waste and fight hunger.” To combat waste during the moving process, the organization gives those who are moving homes the opportunity to donate unopened, unwanted nonperishable food items. In 2021 alone, the organization collected and donated 4,674,804 pounds of food, creating 3,895,670 meals for those in need.
